ADL Committee Minutes - May 2020

Minutes of the meeting of Members of Aylesbury and District Football League Committee held at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday 13 May 2020 via Internet

Present: P Rice, M Griffin, Mrs M Harrison, R Lipscombe. T Munt, N Sabatini, K Saw, A Skeggs, Mrs M Stevens, M Thoday.

Because of the unique circumstances in the Country at present it has not been possible for the Committee to meet as normal.

2019/20 SEASON

We are the only league in Berks and Bucks who are continuing their Cups.  We will have to conclude before starting next season.  Tring Athletic can let us use their facilities from Mondays to Wednesdays.  A timetable has been worked out for the times of the matches, but with no dates as yet.  This will be over a 19 day period.

CLOSE SEASON

Tony has sent out the registration forms, to be returned by the end of May. 5 existing clubs have responded and one team has withdrawn.  There are 5 prospective new teams, but none of their forms have yet come back.

It is too early to decide on fees for next season, we have no idea when it will start.

The AGM will not be held yet, again it is too early to know what will be happening next season.

2020/21 SEASON

If the season does not start until late there will be no County Cup.

There was discussion about the exposure of referees during games, none so far have refused to   participate next season, whenever that starts.

Nothing can be done until we are informed by the FA.

The divisions will not be decided yet, if the season is short there will have to be more divisions with less teams in them.

We do not have to hold all 6 Cups next season.  The President’s Cup and The Marsworth are sponsored, the others are not.

Bucks Council are not currently maintaining Fairford Leys, nothing is likely to be done before September, if then.  (The chairman received a message after the meeting indicating a load of sand had been dumped in the car park.)

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

One club has written with their concerns over finances, registrations and the league formation     Margaret and Peter will reply.

We have had a query about the start of next season, and if it is not till next year can we continue to complete this year’s league. However, the season officially finishes on 30 June and cannot be extended. (Registration and Insurance issues)

We are missing one league cup for Division 2, Tony will investigate.

St John’s have asked for further information concerning the complaint about their changing rooms.

The meeting concluded at 8.45.  Thanks to Marc for organising it.

The Committee will meet again via internet on 3 June 2020, at 7.30 p.m.
